The SCO military training exercise «Peace Mission – 2016» started in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. September 15. Silkroadnews – The official opening of the joint anti-terrorism military command-and- staff exercise of the SCO member states «Peace Mission-2016» took place at the «Edelweiss» range in Balykchy, Kyrgyzstan, KyrTAG writes.

«... such exercises have been dictated by the today's realities, more than once they proved their relevance and significance against the background of the evolving international situation both within the SCO region and in the world as a whole», said the head of the joint military anti-terrorist exercise of the SCO member states R.Mukambetov.

According to him, «the exercises will contribute to closer military cooperation of our countries' armed forces».

A total of 2,000 troops will participate in the exercises. The exercises will also involve about 300 pieces of military equipment, most of which are modernized, as well as 40 combat air force units planned to provide a protection for the ground forces actions.
