The SCO RATS Council presidency has been transferred to China

Almaty. September 14. Silkroadnews – Presidency at the Council of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) has been transferred to China, anti-terrorist center of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

«On September 13 the 29th meeting of the SCO RATS Council was held in Almaty under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan with participation of delegations of the competent authorities of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The council summarized the realization by the competent authorities of the SCO member states of the decisions made earlier», press-release stated.

For example, among the other issues, the Board planned development of measures to improve the efficiency of the SCO RATS interaction with the international anti-terrorist organizations.

At the same time, the meeting approved the work plans of the RATS Executive Committee and its working groups for the following year. It notes that the activities are focused to coordinate the joint counteraction against terrorist organizations, prevent the use of Internet for terrorist, separatist and extremist purposes. The tasks have been set to strengthen cooperation between the SCO member states' border agencies.
