The security agencies of Uzbekistan and China intend to expand their cooperation

Almaty. April 15. Silkroadnews – Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Public Security of China have signed a protocol on further cooperation development in 2016-2017, UzTAG reports.

The protocol has been signed by Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Adham Ahmedbaev and State Councilor and Minister of Public Security of China Guo Shengkun.

“The document provides for the strengthening the coordination of structures between the two agencies in the fight against transnational crime, terrorism and extremism,” the press-service of ministry of internal affairs of Uzbekistan informs.

The main trend of the countries’ cooperation to strengthen the regional security, as it has been noted during the talks between the law enforcement agencies’ heads, is further stepping up toward the joint combatting the various threats and challenges. Uzbekistan and China lay special emphasis to develop their cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, important contributor to the strengthening of both the regional and global security and stability.

The side also exchanged views on further development of cooperation to combat terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking and to strengthen security and stability.
