The Silk Road economic belt can bring the SCO, EEU and EU into a single regional territory, the President of Kazakhstan believes

Almaty. May 15. Silkroadnews – During “One Belt, One Road” forum on international cooperation held in Beijing President of Kazakhstan stressed that the idea of President Xi Jinping to resume the ancient Silk Road in Eurasia in the new format was a timely response to the increased political and economic crises in the world, press-service of the leader of Kazakhstan reported.

“Now, with certain contours of the Silk Road visible, we need the joint strategic coordination of this macro-regional cooperation. Realization of the Silk Road Initiative allows re-positioning of entire regions, including Central Asia, within the global context”, Akorda site quoted N. Nazarbayev saying on Monday.

The President also stressed that Central Asia has regained its strategic importance, becoming the major bridge between the world’s largest markets and note the important role of the Eurasian Economic Union in this process.

“The idea of building a single economic space “Big Eurasia” is filled with a new meaning. The economic belt of the Silk Road can advantageously connect the platforms of the SCO, the EEU and the European Union into a single regional prosperity territory”, the head of state said.
