Almaty. April 14. Silkroadnews - The situation in Afghanistan is getting worse with the emergence of militant of "Islamic State" (IS). This was stated by CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
"The situation in Afghanistan continues to deteriorate. Taliban activity is not reduced. There are problems with the combat capability of the Afghan army and security forces. In Afghanistan, there are representatives of the IS, including natives of the CSTO member states",- said Bordyuzha.
Recently, the United States decided to suspend the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, leaving before the end of the year about 10 thousand soldiers and officers. However, according to CSTO Secretary General, the decision to withdraw US military will not be reviewed.
According to him, the problems in Afghanistan must be solved by the Afghans themselves.
"We can only help. We should not be in the manner of the Americans, trying to impose their rule there, to impose their idea of ​​democracy. There is a president, prime minister, parliament, and they should seek national consensus and stable operation of the state", - said Bordyuzha.
He assured that the CSTO is closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan.
"We have a list of the relevant political and military actions that we will take in the attempt of break out", - said the secretary general.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the strengthening of Russian military bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in connection with concerned situation on the southern borders of the CSTO.
