The Turkish laboratories process Afghan opium into heroin for Europe
Almaty. December 22. Silkroadnews - Afghan opium is processed into heroin for Europe in the Turkish laboratories, reported Khaama Press.
"Director of the Russian Federal Service for Drug Control Viktor Ivanov said on Tuesday that Turkish laboratories process Afghan opium into heroin for export to Europe", - said in a statement.
It is noted that the Russian and Afghan police in a joint operation in December seized more than 600 kilograms of opium.
Last week it was reported that a large consignment of Afghan heroin was transported via Turkey to the Balkan countries and the EU.
According to V. Ivanov, the annual income from the production and sale of Afghan drugs is $150 billion. He commented on the situation due to the fact that Afghanistan was identified for 2016 as one of 22 countries that are the main suppliers and transit points of illegal drugs.
