The Ukrainian cargo transit to Kazakhstan is possible only from Belarus

Almaty. 5 January. Silkroadnews - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree specifying the transit of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan is possible only from Belarus and only with ID seals available, RBC informs.
The decree stipulates that all road and rail transportation from Ukraine to Kazakhstan via Russia shall be carried out only from the territory of Belarus. Tanks used for the goods shipment shall be provided with “identification means (seals), including those applied based on technology-based global navigation satellite system GLONASS”, the decree states.
This provision covers both the railways and the road transportation.
According to the identification, GLONASS equipment will be installed while entering the Russian territory and then removed while leaving it. For this, there will be the special checkpoints equipped.
It clarifies the drivers, who enter Russia, will be required to get special credentials coupons to be returned later while leaving the country. If the driver commits any violations while applying GLONASS equipment such a coupon shall be considered as invalid.
The article also notes that as of January 1 Russia eliminated the free trade zone with Ukraine. Such a decision made after failure of the representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the EU to reach a compromise on the application of provisions of the economic association agreement between Kiev and Brussels within a few rounds of negotiations carried. In addition, the embargo came into effect for a number of the Ukrainian products (meat, fish, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and nuts).
