Almaty. 5 January. Silkroadnews – The US carried out its first shipment of oil after lifting of the “black gold” export embargo applied in the country for the last 40 years, Russian media reports.
“Oil tanker owned by the US ConocoPhillips left from Corpus Christi (Texas) and directed to one of the Italian ports. The oil is delivered for the Swiss-Dutch company “Vitol” - one of the largest oil traders in the world”, the publication notes.
It was also mentioned, within the nearest few days the US put to “Vitol” another batch of hydrocarbons as a minimum.
As previously reported, in the first week of January the United States intends to ship about 600 thousand barrels of oil produced from the terminal in Houston, the southern part of Texas.
In December the US Congress passed the federal budget for 2016, which provided for the revocation of the ban on the American oil export originally introduced in 1975 during the energy crisis due to the Middle East conflict. Since then, the US companies exported only the refined products, including gasoline.
