The volume of transit cargo in Iran in the past year increased by 6.5%

Almaty. April 7. Silkroadnews - In Iran, at the end of last year recorded an increase in volumes of transit cargo, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Tuesday.
"Across the country carried in total 12.34 million tons of transit cargo. That is higher than the previous year by 6.5%", - said the director of the department of transit and border terminals of the road and road transport of Iran Mohammad Javad Atrechiyan.
So, from this volume, 5 million 585 thousand tons accounts for oil products and 6 million 755 thousand tons for non-oil products.
As noted, the lion's share of transit for the period came in fuels and lubricants, household chemicals, cotton, household appliances and building materials.
According Atrechiyan, Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in conjunction with organiation of roads and road transport of IRI regularly carry out measures aimed at attracting transit traffic from the private sector. In addition, work is underway to create the necessary conditions for international transport companies and unions that can fully tap the potential available in Iran for transit.
