The White House welcomed the agreement on the establishment of the IAEA bank of low enriched uranium in Kazakhstan

Astana. August 28. Silkroadnews - The White House welcomed the agreement on the establishment of a bank of low-enriched uranium (LEU) of IAEA in Kazakhstan, reported the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement stressed that "thanks to the initiative of Kazakhstan, member states of the IAEA will have access to a ready reserve of nuclear material for peaceful refueling of nuclear reactors in case they have difficulties in acquiring such material in the international market".
As noted in a statement of the White House "President (Barack Obama) appreciates the importance of the leadership of President Nazarbayev in the field of non-proliferation for more than two decades".
Recall, on August 27 in Astana was held the ceremony of signing an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the establishment of a bank of low-enriched uranium (LEU) of the IAEA on the territory of Kazakhstan.
