The World Bank cut its forecast for GDP growth in Uzbekistan in 2015 to 7.4%
Almaty. January 14. Silkroadnews - The World Bank (WB) has lowered its growth forecast fot Uzbekistan's GDP in 2015 to 7.4%, reported Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG).
According to the report, the World Bank forecast economic growth in Uzbekistan in 2016 will be amounted to 8.2% in 2017 - 8.1%.
According to experts of the World Bank, the Uzbek government's measures to diversify exports and stimulate domestic demand will help economic growth in the coming years. However, the decline in prices for cotton and gold, the poor economic situation in major export markets, mainly in Russia, as well as a decline in remittances will not achieve GDP growth of 8%, as it was the last 10 years.
