The world’s tallest flagpole will be established in Tajikistan

Almaty. June 27. Silkroadnews – The Republic’s state flag will be raised on the tallest flagpole of the world in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan, TajikTA reports.

“On the eve of the National Unity Day, the state flag of Tajikistan will be raised on the tallest flagpole in the world in Khorog, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, in Ismoil Somoni square area at the height of 1 thousand 232 meters above sea level,” the publication says.

The flagpole opening ceremony will take place with participation of President Emomali Rahmon.

It is noted, 165-meter flagpole located in front of the Palace of Nations at the center of Dushanbe in Tajikistan entered the Guinness Book in 2011 as tallest flagpole in the world. Soon, however, the record was beaten by Saudi Arabia that installed 170-meter flagpole and entered the Guinness Book.
