There are about 255 gold fields in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. July 26. Silkroadnews - There are approximately 225 gold fields in Kyrgyzstan, their total stocks make about 2 thousand 149 tons, reports the KyrTAG with a reference to the data of jewelry industry concept of Kyrgyzstan until 2018.
"The main share of gold is produced at Kumtor mine, which takes the 3rd place on gold production volume in the CIS and the 22nd place in the world.  In the past years gold production has been on the level of 18-20 tons per year," the message reports.
In the past 7 years there has been reduction of jewelries production with precious stones of domestic production, and there has been growth of jewelries import.
Silver jewelries production dropped by 2.2 times in 2015 in comparison to 2009, their import grew up by 28 times. The volumes of jewelries production made of domestic gold dropped by 2.9 times in 2015 in comparison to 2009, while imports volume increased by 50 times.
"Increase of import resulted in drop of export and suppression of domestic products, creating threat of jewelry field loss in the future. Export of domestic jewelries makes less than 5% of the total volume of produced goods. In the shade circulation this index is much higher," said the message.
