There are more than 170 million private cars in China

Beijing. May 28. Silkroadnews - The number of private vehicles owners in China reached 310 million in 2017, which is 15 million more compared to 2016, China’s 2017 White Paper on parking industry development says, China Plus wrote.
The document, released by the China Public Transport Association and the Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute, also notes that by the end of 2017 China had 170 million private cars.
For the most part the owners of private vehicles live in such large cities of China as Beijing, Chengdu and Chongqing.
The same study says that the number of vehicles operating on new types of energy has reached 1.53 million, which is about 0.7% of the total share of private vehicles in China.
Meanwhile, experts suggest increasing the number of “smart” parking technologies should contribute to cope with parking issues in major cities.
