This year China will allocate around $2.5 billion for the relocation of 2.5 million people from poor areas

Almaty. April 19. Silkroadnews – This year China plans to relocate 2.49 million impoverished people to the more economically developed areas, the Chinese mass-media reported.

As reported, the National Development and Reform Commission approved allocation of 16 billion yuan, a discount credit is issued in an amount of 82.8 billion yuan to support this relocation.
It is also reported that 50 billion yuan from the banks and 100 billion yuan in local government bonds shall be allocated to realize this project in 2016-2020.

According to the data by the leading group on poverty reduction under China’s State Council of China, in 2015 number of impoverished population in the country’s rural areas got reduced from 70.17 million a year before to 55.75 million people, the task to reduce the number of poor population by 10 million in 2015 was overachieved.
