Almaty. April 27. Silkroadnews – In 2016 Kazakhstan will export to Kyrgyzstan 218 million kWh and to Russia – 1.8 billion kWh, the chairman of the board of JSC “Samruk-Energo” Almasadam Satkaliyev said, KazTAG reports.

“On supply of electric power to Kyrgyzstan, we plan to deliver there about 218 million kWh this year, as of today we have delivered 53 million kWh,” A. Satkaliyev said at the press conference in Astana on Wednesday.
He reminded that previously it was Kyrgyzstan that supplied electricity to Kazakhstan.

“We used to get the Kyrgyz electrical energy related to water supply in summer. With the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan we for the first time use the market mechanisms of cooperation with our partners, that is carry out delivery for cash payments. Here we are talking about the direct business, i.e. we supply electricity at 9 tenge (per 1 kWh – Silkroadnews) at the border of Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan. It is clear that this price includes KEGOC fee, KEGOC dispatch and price of Ekibastuz GRES-1 station,” said the head of the company.

“As for deliveries to Russia: it is about 1.8 billion kWh delivery. Delivery is carried out on a market basis, that is, the price is determined on the basis of daily nodal prices. We participate in the tender in the Russian Federation and in the course of competition, having access to this market, win these trades. The price here is fluctuating at around 5 tenge (per 1 kWh – Silkroadnews). This creates the possibility of downloading and operating capacities in Kazakhstan, thus, generate the additional revenue,” said A. Satkaliyev.
