This year within the free trade zone Uzbekistan plans to launch projects totaling to $500 million
Almaty. February 8. Silkroadnews – According to the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) this year Uzbekistan is going to implement 35 new investment projects totaling about $500 million in three free economic zones this year.
In particular, Long Shen company plans to establish production of ball-point pens and markers in the free industrial zone (FIZ) “Angren”. Besides, 13 projects on processing of technical oils and leather, production of welding electrodes and ceramic tiles, composite reinforcement and other works as well shall be implemented there.
The automobile cluster operations are planned to be expanded in the free industrial-economic zone (FIEZ) “Navoi”.
For example, Egae Cable company producing the automotive wires is going to increase its production volumes. At the same time the Uzbek-Indian joint venture UzMinda intends to master the production of a number of automotive components, as well as speedometers and security systems for new car models of GM Uzbekistan, and the Uzbek-Italian JV Avtosanoat-Landi Renzo plans to expand the production of the under hood equipment to transfer cars to the compressed natural gas.
