Tibet’s Ngari to improve public cultural services

Beijing. March 28. Silkroadnews - Ngari prefecture in northwest Tibet plans to invest 20 million yuan this year to improve public cultural services and promote its folk culture, Tibet Online reports.
Training services will be provided for farmers and herdsmen and role models of ethical and moral standards will be rewarded.
People in border villages will be given easier access to the internet. Educational and red tourism sites will also be set up.
Ngari will promote cultural exchanges among local art troupes by offering subsidies to them.
130 TV sets will be donated to highway maintenance groups and 5,280 movies will be screened in rural areas. A new media center featuring multimedia programs in both Tibetan and Chinese will be established.
