Tibet takes measures to increase employment
Beijing. June 27. Silkroadnews - This year the local government of Tibet took a number of measures to help graduates find a job or start their own business, Vice Director of the Management Committee of Hi-tech Zones of Lhasa Tsring Dakyi said, Tibetol.cn wrote.
Lhasa has achieved a considerable success paying attention to mass entrepreneurship and innovation, as the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang proposed at the Davos summit in 2014.
In 2016, Lhasa Hi-tech Zone created a new service platform called N. Makers Space with an investment of 250 million RMB aimed to improve the business environment. The zone has helped 59 start-ups and project teams, including 15 enterprises founded by Tibetan graduates, which hired 196 employees.
“Longda Media, a start-up built by Tibetan college students, came into N. Maker Space in 2016 and to this day, still enjoys free rent, electricity, and water,” the report cited Tsring Dakyi saying.
As noted, at present Longda Media employs more than 100 employees, both full-time and part-time, 90% of which are college graduates.
In 2018, Tibet plans to invest 2 billion yuan to set an employment promotion fund.
