To cooperate in transport and logistics sectors the Turkic Council states should simplify customs formalities, expert believes

Almaty. December 21. Silkroadnews – The Turkic Council states stand a good chance to connect the transport routes running from China to Europe and from north to south, such an opinion was expressed by Deputy Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Aidar Arifhanov, Trend writes.

During the VI session of ministers in charge of the economy of the Turkic Council states in Baku, he reminded that historically this region used to be a part of the Great “Silk Road”.

A. Arifhanov noted, the issues of transport cooperation between the countries of the Turkic Council are being discussed on a regular basis, the meetings of ministers of transport of these countries are held annually. In his opinion, the successful cooperation in the sector of transport and logistics requires the customs formalities simplification and, as he added, that the appropriate work is carried out in this area.

The deputy minister also noted that the humanitarian and cultural cooperation always served as a core of interaction between the Turkic Council states, with the economic cooperation stepping forward today. He believes, it is necessary to pay special attention to the realization of joint projects and attraction of sponsors to take part in such projects.

A. Arifhanov also reminded that Kazakhstan currently implements a number of programs aimed at diversification and development of non-oil economy and urged the Turkish Council to enter the Kazakhstani market, which, according to him, will open for them the way to the markets of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Cooperation and China.

The deputy minister noted that such cooperation will be beneficial for all the parties.
