Trade turnover of Uzbekistan and Malaysia increased by 42.5% to $ 72.3 million
Almaty. November 26. Silkroadnews - Trade turnover of Uzbekistan and Malaysia for 9 months in 2014 increased by 42.5% compared to the same period in 2013 and totaled to $72.3 million, reports Telegraph Agency of Uzbekistan (UzTAG).
According to the Corporation for the Development of Foreign Trade of Malaysia (MATRADE), in January-September 2014 Malaysia's exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $56.7 million, supplies from Uzbekistan rose to $15.6 million, which is almost 10 times more than the same period a year earlier.
According to the results of recent years Uzbekistan is a major trading partner of Malaysia in the region of Central Asia. Republic owns 41.2% of the region-wide turnover of Malaysia. Uzbekistan is also a major export destination from Malaysia in the region (49.2%) and the main source of imports (35.5%).
Recall that with the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries in recent years, Malaysia has become the 19th largest trading partner of Uzbekistan, 31st in the list of countries for export destinations and 18th for source of imports.
