Transportation costs to deliver Russian oil to China through Kazakhstan increased for 2017-2018

Almaty. March 10. Silkroadnews – The tariff to transport Russian oil to the PRC through the territory of Kazakhstan has been approved for the period of 2017-2018, KazTAG reports.

“By the order # 80 of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated as of March 1, 2017, the tariff of transporting Russian oil in the amount of up to 10 million tonnes per year through the territory of Kazakhstan to China has been approved for the period of 2017-2018 at the rate of $11.36 per tonne excluding VAT”, press release JSC “KazTransOil” issued on Thursday says.

At the section of the border between Russia and Kazakhstan (Priirtyshsk) and Atasu (Kazakhstan), including oil transfer at the head oil pumping station “Atasu”, price is set at $3.11 per tonne excluding VAT; at the section between Kazakhstan and China – Atasu/Alashankou – price is set at $8.25 per tonne excluding VAT.

The former cost of transporting Russian oil along this route was $9.8 per tonne excluding VAT.

On December 27, 2016, “KazTransOil” and “Rosneft”, the authorized organizations of the parties to the agreement, signed an additional agreement providing for an increase in the volume of Russian oil transit up to 10 million tonnes per year (compared to previous 7 million) starting from 2017.
