Trump’s office to continue a series of dismissals
Beijing. March 14. Silkroadnews - Dismissals by U.S. President Donald Trump will not be confined to firing Rex Tillerson as Secretary of the State, turning into another round, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
On Tuesday, after the announcement of Tillerson’s leaving, two more members of the president’s office left their posts: John McEntee, Trump’s personal assistant, and Steve Goldstein, undersecretary for public diplomacy, Voice of America reported.
J.McEntee’s dismissal, according to CNN, is explained by investigation carried out on his activities by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes. And S. Goldstein was fired after he contradicted the official account of Tillerson’s dismissal. Specifically, Goldstein’s statement said Tillerson was “unaware” of the reason behind his dismissal and had learned he had been fired on Tuesday morning when saw a tweet from Mr. Trump announcing appointment of CIA Director Mike Pompeo as the Secretary of the State.
The Trump administration, as noted, has seen the highest rate of turnover among the White House staff in decades. Almost 45% of employees have been changed over 13 months’ term of administration prior to McEntee’s dismissal.
