Almaty. August 31. Silkroadnews – Trump urged the Arab countries to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in the Persian Gulf, Russian news agency TASS reported.
The U.S. President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation on Wednesday with King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during which he called on the Arab countries for a diplomatic solution to the crisis in the Persian Gulf, the report said on Thursday.
As reported, D.Trump and the Saudi King discussed “the threat that Iran poses to the region”, as well as “the need to defeat terrorism, cut off terrorists’ funding and combat extremist ideology”.
The agency reminded, starting from beginning of the summer, the crisis in Qatar’s relations with the Arab states continues: on June 5, Bahrain, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and several other countries announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Qatar accusing it of supporting terrorism and closed their borders with Qatar, which, in fact, became the announcement of the blockade. The parties have not yet reached a mutually acceptable solution.
