Beijing. June 20. Silkroadnews - The U.S. President Donald Trump told Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook that the U.S. government will not impose tariffs on iPhone assembled in China, Sina.com reports.
According to the publication, Cook went to the White House last month to warn Trump about the potentially adverse effects of Trump’s trade policy for Apple in China. However, the official comments did not follow from Apple and the White House.
The list of tariffs proposed in April largely excluded consumer electronics. But last week Trump unveiled a revised list, which includes several categories of such products, which could adversely affect the technology industry of the U.S. itself.
