Turbojet engines duty-free import to EEU extended till 2021

Almaty. November 28. Silkroadnews - At the meeting of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) the duty-free import of turbojet engines was extended till 2021, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) informed referring to the EEC press service.
“Zero rates of import customs duties of the EEU UCT engines has been extended for certain types of turbojet. The measure covers turbojet engines with a power of over 110 kN, but not exceeding 145 kN, designed for MS-21 civil aircraft (codes 8411 12 300 7 and 8411 12 800 1 of the EEU FEACN) and will be effective till December 31, 2020 inclusive,” the statement reads.
Rate of the import customs duty of the EEU UCT on the items considered is 5% of the customs value. Earlier, the zero rate of import customs duties on these types of imported engines was established by the decision of the board of the commission in 2014, it explains.
According to the Russian side, at present such turbojet engines are not produced for modern domestic aircraft in the EEU countries.
The extension of the import customs duties will allow to allocate the funds to the development of the production base and R&D of the aircraft manufacturing industry, as well as to reduce the cost of equipment and components for aircraft manufactured in the countries of the union.
