Almaty. January 26. Silkroadnews - The Turkmen field Galkinish provides production of up to 95 billion cubic meters of gas a year, Trend wrote.
“Taken together, the three stages of development of the largest deposit in Turkmenistan Galkinish provided production of up to 95 billion cubic meters of gas per year,” says the publication with reference to the Ministry of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan.
Galkinish has a great potential to increase the volume of production, processing and transportation of fossil fuels. This is due to huge reserves of gas at the Galkinish block fields that recently were estimated as 27.4 trillion cubic meters.
According to the international experts, the huge resources of gas on Galkinish are sufficient to ensure the long-term supply of fuel both via all the existing export routes and on the planned pipelines according to the state strategy of diversification of the Turkmen natural gas routes to the world markets.
At this stage, gas infrastructure will enable Turkmenistan to export fuel to Iran, Russia and China. Another option considered at present is gas supply to Europe via the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
In December 2015 the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan- India (TAPI) pipeline started.
