Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan have agreed on the transit of electricity

Almaty. December 22. Silkroadnews - High-voltage power line will run from Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan, reported the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan.
"Between Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan signed a tripartite protocol of intent concerning the purchase and transit of Turkmen electricity from Merry through Afghanistan (Herat - Helmand - Kandahar) to Pakistan. This line will complement 500 KV transmission line from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and on to Pakistan, which is now under construction", - said in a statement Tuesday.
It is noted that the project was proposed by the Government of Afghanistan.
According to the Ministry, Afghanistan will benefit not only from additional sources of energy, reducing energy deficit, but also on the transit through its territory.
