Turkmenistan and Iran have discussed the possibility of expanding ties in the oil and gas sector

Almaty. November 7. Silkroadnews - Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov in Ashgabat held meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Bijanov Namdar Zangane and discussed the possibility of expanding ties in the oil and gas sector, reports Trend.
According to the report, the Iranian side expressed interest "in the further deepening and expansion of established contacts in the oil and gas sector, the integrated development of the state, both of which pay particular attention."
Berdymukhamedov said that Turkmenistan in accordance with its neutral status, intends to continue to strengthen friendly relations with all countries of the planet, and especially, with its immediate neighbors.
The meeting was a discussed earlier agreements and prospects for increased cooperation in the energy sector.
According to the Iranian side, the annual volume of bilateral trade between the two neighboring countries reached $5 billion in the coming years could double.
