Turkmenistan proposes to hold inter-Afghan talks under UN auspices

Almaty. May 28. Silkroadnews - Application to conduct intra-Afghan talks under United Nations auspices was made during a meeting between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov with the president's special representative for Afghanistan in CIS Mohammad Shaker Kargar.
"Once again reiterated the willingness of Turkmenistan to provide its political space for inter-Afghan peace talks under the auspices of the United Nations and take an active part in the development of new political and diplomatic mechanisms to resolve this issue", - stated in the text.
According to the information, Berdymuhamedov said that Turkmenistan "all these years has really helped Afghanistan, supplying electricity and liquefied petroleum gas, performing the construction of facilities of industrial and social facilities, regularly sending humanitarian aid to the population of the border regions".
At the initiative of the head of state and at the expense of the Turkmen side in Afghanistan were built a school and health house.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with other government agencies have prepared program involving the construction of social facilities, the opening of the shopping center, the supply of humanitarian goods, and a maternity hospital for 20 people in the border village Turgundi in Herat province.
