Turkmenistan’s GDP increased significantly in 2015
Almaty. January 11. Silkroadnews - Turkmenistan supports the high-level GDP growth, for 2015 it was kept as 6.7%, according to “Trend”.
“The growth of the gross domestic product was 6.7%, including 9.3% in the construction industry, 10.4% - in trade, 9.8% in transport and communication sector”, the statement informs referring to the Ministry of Economy and Development.
In comparison with 2014 the volume of investments aimed at various sectors rose by 8.2% and made over 53 billion manat. The rate of national currency - manat - is kept within the limits as specified.
Currently, the volume of investments directed to the construction industry makes about $49 billion. 375 large industrial facilities and facilities of social and cultural value totaling to more than $10 billion based on all the sources of funding have been into operation within last year only.
According to the report by British Petroleum (BP), in terms of natural gas reserves the country ranks the 4th place in the world and at this stage has the ability to export it to China and Iran. The official Ashgabat heads for the diversification of the local economy, at the same time the industries of textile, petroleum products, oil, gas and chemical industry and industry of construction materials are also under active development at present.
