Almaty. June 13. Silkroadnews – Two-fold drop in number of donors observed in Kazakhstan, as the CEO of the Red Crescent in Kazakhstan Yelena Kim informs.
“It is mainly related to the changes of social and economic situation in the country, the previous donor system planned donor system being liquidated as well as lack of information in mass media”, she said.
The WHO estimates that 40-50 blood donations are required per every 1 000 of residents in order to sustain necessary level of blood components provision. There are only 18 blood donations per every 1 000 in Kazakhstan.
