U.S. President changed his mind to pull U.S. troops out of Syria immediately
Beijing. April 5. Silkroadnews - The U.S. President Donald Trump decided not to pull out the U.S. troops out of Syria immediately, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reported referring to BBC Russian service.
D.Trump will not remove the troops immediately, despite his statement last week that the US to leave Syria soon, the report said on Thursday.
As noted, the advisers convinced the president to change his decision, arguing that the extremist group “Islamic state”, if not restrained, can regroup its forces and resurge.
The White House said on Wednesday the U.S. military presence in Syria will soon be over, but there were no specific deadlines for leaving. The statement said the IS is almost completely destroyed, and the U.S. will consult with the allies on further actions, the report says.
Reportedly, a senior administration official told NBC News that the president had agreed at a meeting on Tuesday to keep troops in Syria for an undetermined period.
The US has about 2,000 personnel on the ground in eastern Syria supporting an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias called the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the agency wrote.
