Beijing. June 29. Silkroadnews - The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed regret over the U.S. withdrawal from the deal on the Iranian nuclear program, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
He said, the UN Security Council resolution 2231 provides for the full implementation of the deal by all the parties and its support by the regional and international institutions.
Since January 16, 2016, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has already reported 11 times to the UN Security Council that Iran fulfills its obligations under the JCPOA, Guterres noted.
He also pointed out to the U.S. unilateral withdrawal from the deal, and stressed that, despite Iran’s compliance with its nuclear obligations, the deal is close to collapse.
According to him, issues not directly related to the JCPOA should be resolved without prejudice to preserve the agreement and the successes achieved.
