Almaty. October 2. Silkroadnews - American expert on Afghanistan, Congressional Research Service Advisor of USA Kenneth Katzman believes that the United States should conduct limited military operations in Afghanistan after 2014, when the country will leave the international forces under NATO auspices, reports AfTAG.
"The United States in Afghanistan will continue to maintain a military role, even after 2014. It is believed that there will be about 10 thousand soldiers, it will be special forces engaged in counter-terrorism operations. It will not be as in Iraq, where the United States had gone and left no one to engage in the actual war. There will be some military action and the United States will be involved in them",- quoted Kenneth Katzman.
He believes that with the gradual withdrawal of international forces movement "Taliban" will continue to "test" the Afghan security forces.
According to him, without American support, the Government of Afghanistan may suffer defeat in the struggle against the "Taliban"
Already, he said, "Taliban" achieves some success, but in general it is possible to restrain them, he said.
