US air strikes caused civilian casualties in Kunduz - UN mission

Almaty. November 9. Silkroadnews - Airstrikes by foreign militaries in the northern Afghan province of Kunduz left at least 10 civilians killed on November 4, representatives of the UN assistance mission in Afghanistan said, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AFTAG) reported.
According to the previous reports, information on civilian casualties during the recent bombings in Chardara district had aroused wide resonance and growing anti-American sentiments. The U.S. militaries released a report on investigation on the issue and announced there were no civilian casualties.
Yet, the UN mission report says, information was received that at least 10 civilians were killed in Kunduz, Afghanistan, with air strikes on November 4. The UN interview with many survivors, medical personnel, elders and others gives serious reasons to believe there were civilian casualties.
Meanwhile, sources from the council of the province of Kunduz say that as a result of the bombing, 18 residents of several villages were killed, Tolo channel reported.
Eyewitnesses say relatives of the people killed come to the government agencies striving for thorough investigation of the tragedy to bring those responsible to justice. Many residents also expect to receive compensation for material damage, as their housing have been destroyed as a result of military operations.
