US arms sales represents a real threat to region: Iran

Silkroadnews - Iran’s missile capability that is based on the country’s defensive policies is not a threat, rather the real threat is the arms sales race between the US and Europe in the region, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
Commenting on the recent statements by France President Emmanuel Macron on Iran’s missile program, Bahram Qasemi said, Iran’s missile potential lies within its military doctrine based on the policy of protection and deterrence.
The real threat is an arms race between the United States and some European countries in the sale of the advanced, sophisticated weapons to some countries in the region, he said, calling this a provocative action leading to an increase in the number of arsenals and instability in the region.
Talking about the bitter historical experience of Iran over the past decades, he said that his country will not allow others to undermine its defense potential while simultaneously providing other countries of the region with deadly weapons.
Iran wants its neighbors’ peace and security in the region to be strengthened, and will spare no effort to fight the region’s destabilization by terrorist groups, he said.
