US delivered to Afghanistan four military helicopters MD-530

Almaty. September 16. Silkroadnews – Four military helicopters MD-530 were delivered to 209th Corps «Shaheen» of the Afghan army in the northern Balkh province on Thursday, AfTAG reports.
The Afghan Air Force Commander Abdul Wahab Wardak said the helicopters will contribute to cope with the growth of militant activity in the province, though pointed out that the army still needs more aircraft.
MD 530MG Defender is a light attack helicopter designed by the American company McDonnell Douglas. It has been designed on the basis of serial helicopter MD 500 to combat the armored vehicles and carry out intelligence support. The helicopters are equipped with heavy weapons to use for clearing operations with the air strikes.
