US extended sanctions against Iran for another 10 years
Almaty. December 15. Silkroadnews – US extended the Iran Sanctions Act for another 10 years, IrTAG writes.
According to the US law, “the final decision was to take President Barack Obama to either sign or reject a bill on the extension of sanctions against Iran adopted earlier by the U.S. Congress. However, he did neither the one nor the other, and so the document automatically became law”, the publication said.
The document came into force.
Meanwhile, according to TASS, the extension of US sanctions will not affect the nuclear program agreement.
According to statement by the US Secretary of State John Kerry, “the United States will continue to comply with its obligations in accordance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)” on the Iranian nuclear program agreed in Vienna on July 14, 2015.
John Kerry said he assured of this the US partners in agreement with Iran (the permanent UN Security Council members and Germany) as well as the head of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif.
