US hailed Uzbekistan’s contribution on situation in Afghanistan

Beijing. February 28. Silkroadnews - The United States believes Uzbekistan plays a “historical role” in ensuring stability in Afghanistan, the State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said regarding on the conference in Tashkent, the Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) reports.
To remind, the international conference on the Afghan crisis settlement is scheduled to be held in Tashkent on March 26-27.
“We consider Uzbekistan as having a historic role in supporting stability in Afghanistan, and that conference is considered a real return to the international stage in a lot of ways,” Nauert said at the briefing.
She reminded, the government of Afghanistan will take part in the conference in Tashkent together with the US representatives.
“It’s an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned initiative to try to bring together different international partners to coordinate international efforts to support Afghanistan’s pursuit of peace,” the agency quoted Nauert citing.
