US handed over military transport helicopter to the Kazakhstani Air Force

Almaty. April 8. Silkroadnews - Air Force of Kazakhstan has received the military transport helicopter on a non-repayable basis within the framework of military-technical cooperation with the United States, the press service of the Kazakhstani Ministry of Defense reports.

“Today, the Kazakhstani Air Force fleet has been added with another helicopters UH-1H-II “Huey” in accordance with the plan of military-technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States,” the statement informed on Friday.

The press service informs, this is the third helicopter delivered within the framework of military-technical cooperation between two countries. The spare parts, units, components and consumables materials have been delivered in addition.

According to the information provided, “Helicopters “Huey” are widely used in various exercises, including the special tactical peacekeeping maneuvers “Steppe Eagle” with participation of the Kazakhstani peacekeeping battalion Kazbat and peacekeeping brigade Kazbrig of the airmobile forces of Kazakhstan”.

Helicopter UH-1H-II is a light multi-purpose military transport helicopter designed for transportation of troops (up to 12 people) and cargoes, search and rescue operations (including ones with winch), air reconnaissance, medevacs. It is equipped with single-engine T-53-L-703, with 1800 horsepower capacity, integrated navigation and electronic equipment. Maximum weight - 4762 kg, maximum speed - 240 km/h.
