US pushes Iran to reduce stockpiles of radioactive substances – media
Almaty. November 25. Silkroadnews – Washington and its allies push Tehran to reduce the amount of radioactive substances stored on the territory of Iran to prevent nuclear deal failure in connection with the Republican Donald Trump’s victory at the elections in the US, TASS writes.
According to “The Wall Street Journal”, administration of Obama believes the comprehensive plan of action on the Iranian nuclear program could become at risk after the inauguration of Donald Trump. During the election campaign, the Republican repeatedly pointed out he considers the agreement as unprofitable and told about the plans to revise it. Washington expects to raise the prospects to save the deal prior to the inauguration of the newly elected president.
To this end the current US administration strives to push Tehran to reduce the steps at disposal of its radioactive substances, including enriched uranium. According to the nuclear program agreement, Iran has undertaken to store not more than 300 kg of 3.67% enrich uranium over 15 years. Washington hopes Tehran will agree on further significant reduction of the volume to prevent the deal rejection by Trump, WSJ writes.
