Uzbek airline has performed the first flight on the route Tashkent-Dushanbe
Almaty. April 11. Silkroadnews – On April 11, 2017, the national airline (NAC) “Uzbekistan Airways” performed the first flight on the route Tashkent-Dushanbe-Tashkent, the air company’s press service reported.
“On April 11 “Uzbekistan Airways” performed the first for 25 years flight to the capital of Tajikistan – the city of Dushanbe”, the statement says.
The flights to Tashkent from Dushanbe will be performed twice a week: on Tuesdays (departure at 09:50 a.m.) and on Saturdays (departure at 01:40 p.m.). The flight duration will be about one hour.
Flight connection between two states were terminated back in 1992 with beginning of the civil war in Tajikistan.
In November 2016, in Dushanbe, a protocol was signed to resume flights between the capitals of the two states in the first half of 2017.
Earlier the first flight, scheduled for April 4, 2017, was canceled due to the small number of tickets sold. The airline officials reported that the flight will take place with due number of passengers.
All the arrangements reached on resumption of flight connection between Tashkent and Dushanbe remain valid.
From the Tajik side, the airline “Somon Air” will perform flights to Tashkent.
At present there is visa regime between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
