Uzbekistan acquainted with Turkey’s experience in halal tourism development
Beijing. May 14. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan got acquainted with Turkey’s experience in halal tourism development, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports with reference to the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan.
According to the department, the State Committee for Tourism Development and the Turkish company Ortadogu Grup conducted a presentation on the ‘halal tourism’ for tour operators.
Halal tourism becomes one of the most popular directions in the tourism field. More than 150 million Muslims travel to different countries in a year choosing the states where they will be provided with the most comfortable conditions. These are inexpensive family hotels, restaurants with ‘halal’ food and without alcohol, separate bathing areas for women and men, places for prayer.
Ortadogu Grup representative told Uzbek tour operators about the peculiarities of ‘halal tourism’ in Turkey, including cases of the family hotel “Wome Deluxe” and “Nisantasi” clinic.
Reportedly, Uzbekistan has already started to develop a family hotel for Muslims field in the tourism sector. To remind, in terms of ‘halal tourism’ development Uzbekistan ranks 28th in 2017 rating by “Crescent Rating” (Malaysia, Indonesia and Turkey ranks top in the rating).
A memorandum on cooperation in the development of “tourism zeerat” has earlier been signed between the State Committee for Tourism Development, the Committee on Religious Affairs and the Department of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, expected to facilitate the popularity of pilgrimage trips to Uzbekistan and increase the number of religious events in the national tourism in Uzbekistan.
