Uzbekistan and China have discussed the joint projects worth more than $4.5 billion
Almaty. May 5. Silkroadnews – The head of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade (MFERIT) Elyor Ganiev held talks with Chinese delegation headed by the Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng paying an official visit to Uzbekistan, Uzbek news agency (UzTAG) reports.
According to information, the heads of agencies discussed “the current state and prospects of further development of mutually beneficial trade and economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation between two countries within the context of the agreements reached at the bilateral meetings at the highest level in 2013-2014”.
During the visit the parties discussed development of new projects with the total cost of more than $4.5 billion.
The parties are working on joint projects in oil and gas, energy, chemical industry, infrastructure and telecommunications.
For the last six years the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China has increased 3 times and reached $4.7 billion in 2014. In the first half of 2015 the mutual trade turnover grew by 11.7%.
