Uzbekistan and Russia discussed the increase of imports of the Uzbek agricultural products
Almaty. January 28. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan and Russia discussed an increase in the imports of the Uzbek agricultural products, according to the Uzbek news agency (UzTAG).
“The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia held negotiations with participation of the Director of International Cooperation Department, Artem Tsinamdzgvrishvili, and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation. The parties discussed an increase in the imports of the Uzbek agricultural products,” said a statement.
During the meeting it was noted that Uzbekistan has a high agricultural potential and produces a lot of fruit and vegetables, which volume allow to provide not only the needs of the population of the republic, but also to increase the supply of these products to the Russian market.
The parties also noted the trade positive dynamics between the countries - in 2015 the volume of agricultural supplies from Uzbekistan to Russia grew by 10.6% in comparison with 2014.
The share of imports from Uzbekistan within the total amount of Russian imports of agricultural raw materials and food made 0.2% in 2015 and split like the following: vegetables (31%), fruit and nuts (24.8%), alcoholic beverages (13.4%), tobacco (12.9%), fruit juices (10.6%).
