Uzbekistan, by 2018, plans to expand the network of drip irrigation up to 25 thousand hectares
Almaty. January 12. Silkroadnews - By 2018, through the use of state preferential loans, Uzbekistan plans to expand the network of drip irrigation to 25 thousand hectares, reported Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG).
As a result of work in the country during the last 5-6 years the system was already implemented on more than 10 thousand hectares. Just last year, drip irrigation was used on an area of about 3.5 thousand hectares and 1.5 thousand hectares performed installation works.
It is worth noting that the constraints of mass application of drip irrigation systems (if not to take into account the territory where they are not acceptable) have the lack of grid infrastructure and high initial capital costs for implementation.
