Uzbekistan equips its troops with the latest weapons and equipment

Almaty. January 14. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan has consistently equip troops with the latest weapons and equipment in accordance with the plans of the Armed Forces (AF) of the country, said President Islam Karimov on congratulations of defenders of the homeland on the occasion of 23 anniversary of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan.
"We have consistently implemented measures to modernize and re-equip the troops with the latest weapons and equipment, including anti-aircraft and helicopters, armored vehicles, artillery systems, means of communication, individual and group protection", - said Islam Karimov in greeting, the text of which was published on Wednesday in the local press.
According to the President, the most important priority of Uzbekistan in its military strategy is "deepening cooperation with the defense ministries of foreign countries, many of which set and expand mutually beneficial partnerships, realized annual plans of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation".
According to consulting firm Strategic Defenuse Intelligence, military spending in Uzbekistan in 2020 will grow by 9.5% - to $3.4 billion. Spending on the military industrial complex in Uzbekistan for 2010-2014 increased by 11.7% to $2.2 billion, experts predict that in 2015 defense spending in Uzbekistan will be estimated at $2.4 billion.
Defenders of the Motherland Day in Uzbekistan is celebrated on 14th January.
