Uzbekistan has convicted six people who planned to join the IS

Almaty. June 10. Silkroadnews – The Samarkand Regional Criminal Court convicted six residents of Payaryk district who planned to go to Syria to take part in the fighting on the side of the “Islamic state”, UzTAG reported.
“Residents of Payaryk district of Samarkand region Azizkhon Nosirov and Ravshan Pulatov, having received extremist materials on electronic media from a certain citizen of Kyrgyzstan “Abdullah” started actively urge other people to comply with the rules of Shariat,” was said in the court.

Later, they attracted Sardor Saydaliyev, Muzaffarhon Makhmudov, Hassan Pulatov and Kamola Abdullaeva to study and promote the ideas of radical extremism and cherish an idea to join the armed gangs in Syria.
Officers of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan have seized a large amount of extremist literature, computers and electronic media containing propagation for the need to build an Islamic state in Central Asia and, in particular, in Uzbekistan.

All the accused have acknowledged their guilt and have been sentenced to imprisonment for periods from 6 to 9 years, Kamola Abdullaeva got two years as conditional sentence.
