Uzbekistan has preserved an attempt of smugging a large consignment of chemicals

Almaty. March 13. Silkroadnews - Authorities of the Surkhandarya region, together with the Regional Administration of Customs foiled an attempt of smuggling a large consignment of chemicals, reported UzTAG.
According to the press service of the State Customs Committee of the Republic, at the customs complex "Sariasiya" during the inspection of transit freight car Mercedes-Benz, following from Turkey to Tajikistan, were found 20 tons 850 kg of sulfuric acid and 2.4 tons of formic acid.
"Special permits for the transit of cargo through the territory of Uzbekistan was not received", - explained in the press service. It is noted that these chemicals are precursors in the production, manufacture and processing of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
"The case is being investigating", - concluded the press service.
